visibility: hiddenI stopped publicly accepting design projects about a year ago. I was tired of designing sites for shops that provided the exact same product to the exact same audience in the exact same community. And I was absolutely sick of working with people who acted like they owned my soul. “Retired” is what I called myself. I still designed for select people, though – family, friends, and really, really nice previous clients. A few dozen websites and business card templates later, I realized that I haven’t really retired. I just went underground. Here are mock-ups of some of the stuff I’ve worked on since. I’m working on two more sites as I type, so it doesn’t look like I’m gonna retire for real anytime soon. I’m considering publicly accepting design projects again, as it seems like a significant number of people want me back. It’s gone to the point where my previous clients are getting messages from various people on how I can be stalked/ contacted. Hopefully I’ll be able to handle that level of stress again. For now I’m thinking of how I can set limits to who can avail of my services. Without sounding cocky. Busy PrettifyingIt’s what it looks like. I’m designing sites again. Not Multiply, though. I’m currently working on my sister’s blog and a proper online shop for Pretty Oddity. I’m also updating and constructing my portfolio, which will tentatively be called, surprise, surprise, Project Prettify. The folks who know about the blip I made at Multiply would know about Project Prettify and the ginormous impression it left. It’s a lucky name, and I’m not letting it go just yet. Speaking of portfolios, I’m rather liking dA’s new Portfolio Feature. It’s a lot like Carbonmade, only better. They’re doing a lot of great things for their users, so I think they deserve a lot of thanks. And cake. Nine of them.
Wishing dA a wonderful 9th birthday. Back to work with me. |
